"Happy End" is Overrated

Apparently, the trend of the American shows is to induce heart attack to their viewers this summer. The season finales are succeeding more rapidly than the speed of the Enterprise ship rushing through the frontierless space.

There are a few shows that I am watching every week. This month, all of them offered me my adrenaline rush to last for a lifetime (at least). I’ll try not to give away too much of the “plots”. So, beware of the spoilers, even tough I am certain most of you have already seen them.

After a rather boring than intriguing year, and a shocking episode that hit its targets, season five of House ended in a pessimistic-gloomy note for the majority of the staff, but also with little drops of optimism for two of the characters.

Flirts, amusement, crimes and skeletons – it is Bones recipe in its fourth year of televised existence. A proposal that can turn one’s life 180 degrees, a close encounter with a cartoon character, and health issues – all of it in the last two episodes of this season finale in Bones.

Private Practice has changed. If in its first year it was the funniest and the most hip American spin-off, this season the recipe has altered. We had a long serious season, with dramatic stories, incurable diseases and an A+ final episode, in which the writers and the producers paid their dues to the fans of the Los Angeles practice. The season finale has one of the most interesting cliffhangers I have ever seen on a TV show. But my imagination and patience will have to do until, of course, next fall.

And now the frostings (yes, plural) on the cake:

Grey’s Anatomy… in the dictionary, the expression “unexpected season finale, dripped in sadness and surprise elements” is CERTAINLY accompanied with the show’s picture. Nothing gives away what is about to happen. I advise you to prepare yourself heart and soul for two hours of adrenaline rushing. It’s OK if you scream or cover your mouth with your hands from time to time because of the shock.
Rumors have been going on for a while, that two of the cast members (T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl) want out of the contract at the end of season five. Well, they have left. And oh boy, what a way to go! But (there’s always a “but”) Katherine Heigl said not long ago that “I’ll stay if they’ll (Shonda Rhimes and the other bosses) have me”. I am telling you this: things aren’t always as they seem.

Prison Break is over! Really over. Oh well, there are in sight a couple of episodes that will explain (so they say) a lot of things. But the show has reached its end. Four seasons of amazing prison breaks, hiding, crimes, conspiracies, revolutionary technologies and bad (or should I say “evil”?) mothers. Do you think that’s enough? Sure, each episode had many overturnings, but the show’s finale really bummed us all. Prepare your napkins (you’re going to need them), say goodbye to the Prison Break gangs, because their run has ceased. The last two episodes bring back old characters, some of them surprising, which will have a major influence on (re)settling into normality. The final minutes of the show flow 4 years in the future...

Backstreet Boys - "The Call"

TIME TO REMEMBER

THE CALL. I really missed this one - a remarkable video of the BACKSTREET BOYS. I suppose the budget for the shooting and the special effects was huge! Quite impressive the cinematography of the video, don't you think?

I love the power of the rhythm (I can only imagine how cool is to hear it in a live concert) and the tricky lyrics.

The Call is the second single of the BACKSTREET BOYS' 2000 album Black & Blue (wow, it's been that long?)

PS: In this video, Howie is sporting his worst hairdo ever and Kevin his coolest.

Bits and Pieces of Red

While taking a walk in the park with one of my best friends, we encountered a lot of teenage girls (coming out of school/ high-school) wearing red. I had no idea that this time of year I was going to see so many items of this color: t-shirts, blouses, shoes, bags... you name it! Most of the girls matched up a pair of blue jeans with shirts or ruffled blouses and sneakers. The getups looked nice, but do we really need that much red this upcoming summer?
